JEE Main 2018 :Joint Engineering Entrance (JEE Mains) is the national level engineering entrance examination of India.Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is conducted by CBSE and would be conducted by Online & offline modes. Applicants who wants to get the admission into IITs for engineering (B.E/B.Tech) Courses will have to appear in the paper-1 and those who want to get admission into (Architecture B.Arch/ B.Planning)  Courses will have to appear in the Paper-2.Every year many applicants appear for this national level exam to get admission in 31 19 IITs,NITs, 18 IIITs and 18 GFTIs, these are the participating institutions of JEE Main. Complete details about JEE Main 2018 are given below.The qualified candidates of JEE Mains will be eligible to take up JEE Advanced examination as well.

Application Fees

The application fee has to be paid to complete the application process. Application fee can be paid either through online or offline mode. Application fee paid is non-refundable. The application fee for different categories is as follows-

JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The applicants interested in JEE main should go through the eligibility criteria before they apply for the examination. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2018 has been given below to help the appearing applicants.

Age– The candidates must have aged born on after 1st October 1992 for General Candidates (for reserved categories it is 1st October 1987).

Education Qualification– The candidates should have qualified higher secondary examination or equivalent either in 2015 or 2016 (appearing candidates can also apply).

  • The candidates must have scored 50% in aggregation of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
  • The candidates must have minimum 5 subjects in higher secondary standard.
  • The interested candidate can take up JEE Main examination only for 3 attempts.
  • The diploma holder (3 years) can also apply for JEE Main 2018.

JEE Main 2018 Application Form

  • Candidates are required to fill the JEE Main Online Application Form 2018 only through online process. The application form was available from 1st December 2016.
  • Except online mode, No other modes was entertained to fill and submit the application form.
  • The last date to fill the application form was January, 2018. Now, the application form has been closed.
  • Candidate can submit only one application form. More than one application form filling will lead to rejection.
  • There was no need to send the printed application form to the CBSE Board.

Before the application the candidates are suggested to get the JEE Main Information Bulletin 2018 from the official site of the board and read carefully, which will be available after release of official notice for JEE Main 2018.

Mode of Examination

The Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.) :JEE (Main) will be conducted in two separate modes

Offline (Pen and Paper Based Exam ) mode and Online (Computer Based Exam) mode.

The Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.) of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based exam mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based exam modes for Paper-1 (B. E/B. Tech.) only

Exam Pattern

This examination will be conducted for two papers. Candidates who want to take admission in B.Tech/B.E they must apply for paper 1 and the candidates who want to take admission in B.Arch/B.Planning, they must apply for paper 2. Candidate can apply for both papers.

  • There will be 2 papers in JEE Main examination- Paper I for engineering and Paper II for architecture.
  • Paper I includes total 90 OMC questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
  • Paper II includes total 82 questions- 30 questions from Mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions from drawing test.

JEE Main 2018 Admit Card

JEE Main Admit card will be available from March 2018. Those candidates will apply for the examination, they can download their admit card from official website.The Admit card shows the candidate’s roll number,examination center,candidate name category,paper name and other information.JEE Main Admit card is the mandatory document for examinational hall and till get the admission.

JEE Main 2018 Result

The JEE Main result (Paper 1) will be declared on  April, 2018. The examination authority will also released the JEE main cut off and All india rank for paper 1. Candidates can check the JEE Main Result 2018 through the official site. Candidates are required to enter their roll number and date of birth and click on the submit button to generate their score card. After the result announcement, merit list will be prepared only on the basis of JEE Main Score. From the year 2018 board marks will not be taken in to account for preparing JEE main merit, but candidates who wish to take admission in to IIT’s, IIIT’s, NIT’s, CFTI’s must score atleast 75% in their class 12th board exams as the mandatory eligibility.

JEE Main 2018 Counselling

The candidates will be selected for counselling on the basis of their ranks on merit list. The counselling will start from 1st week of July 2018. The authorities who will handle the counselling procedure are- CSAB and JoSAA. There will be 4 rounds in counselling procedure- 1st 3 rounds will be handled by JoSAA and the last & final round will be handled by CSAB. The entire counselling process will be completely online based.
